25. June 2011 Lübeck Martyrs Beatification
The Archdiocese of Hamburg celebrates the beatification of the 3 Catholic chaplains. The festivities will take place in Lübeck, once the home of the 4 martyrs.

Christmas Fairs

Christmas atmosphere all over town! A visit to Lübeck’s Christmas Fair, which was first mentioned in 1648, is a must for all Lübeck visitors. Thousands of fairy lights as well as Christmas decorations in the streets and shop windows bring a special atmosphere to the old hanseatic city. The Market and its some 400 merchants offer toys and Christmas decoration, fine crafts, mulled wine, baked apples and gingerbread. The historic Christmas market at St Mary’s church makes visitors travel through time - medieval flair in midst of modern Lübeck. There is also a fairytale forest where you can meet Little Red Riding Hood, Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella enjoyed by all the little ones.
